Jason Gould on singing with mom Barbra Streisand
It’s really something that Jason Gould has had this amazing singing voice for all these years and not shared it with the world.
He just wasn’t ready – until now.
‘I started exploring singing and music late in life,’ Jason says in a new promo video. ‘It was not something I really thought I would ever do because my mother’s such an icon. I thought, "I can’t open my mouth. People would compare me and I just didn’t think I’d ever want to go there.
‘But I also had a need to express myself and explore my own musicality.’
Streisand said when she heard some of the songs her son had record, ‘it was jaw dropping. Where has this been?’
Gould, 47, appeared with his mother during her hugely successful Back to Brooklyn tour where they sang How Deep is the Ocean together. It is this song that they perform on the new album.
He last worked together with his famous mom in the 1991 film The Prince of Tides in which she played her character’s son. Streisand also directed and produced the film which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture.

Wow, this was just the most heartfelt thing I have heard and seen in some time and to the legendary and iconic Babs, no disrespect but your boy is Super Hot……..Is he smoking-hot or what? You did good all around and Barbara your voice still sounds amazing, you are truly blessed with a gift and now the world knows that your son (Hubba, Hubba, Hubba) has inherited that same gift…

I have been a fan since I was 10 years old. I am now 53. By the time I was 11, I could recite all of your Fanny Brice lines from Funny Girl. I have almost all of your albums in vinyl and in CDs. I know almost all of the words of every song you’ve done.
I was at the store and saw your new album, Partners. I hadn’t looked to see who was on the album and so when it came to the song, How Deep is the Ocean, I cried. It was so beautiful. Then I looked in the back and found out it was your son, Jason. I knew you had a son but that was it.
Your voice Josh is so soothing and controlled. I’m so buying your music. Good luck to you. Barbra, thank you so much for entertaining me for the past 40 years. When I felt sad, your music put me in a happy place.

I found a post on Facebook introducing your CD Partners. I sat down and I listen for over one hour. I was so taken with the duet of you and your son, Jason. It is the best! I than researched Jason’s music and listened for about another hour. I am so in love with his voice. Thank You!
