Jane Lynch to get star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Tomorrow is a big day in the career of Jane Lynch.
She has just tweeted this news: Getting my STAR ON THE WALK OF FAME tomorrow! 11:30 am. Hollywood and Cherokee. Love to see you there!
It’s so great to see a bonafide star getting recognized in this way.
I had lost faith in the whole tradition during an era when The Olson twins and Britney Spears were getting stars as teens or 20-somethings.
Jane is 53 and she’s been working hard for decades on television, in movies and on stage.
Then five years ago it all just exploded with a character named Sue Sylvester and a show called Glee.
She has since won an Emmy, a Golden Globe, starred on Broadway as Miss Hannigan in Annie, hosted the Emmy Awards, wrote her autobiography, gotten married and is now getting divorced.
And she’s done it all as an out and proud lesbian who supports and contributes her time to worthy LGBT causes like the LA Gay & Lesbian Center.
I still remember the first time I saw Jane: Summer of 1992 in Westwood when she was portraying Carol Brady in The Real Live Brady Bunch.
She’s come a long way!
