It turns out Caitlyn Jenner isn’t ruling out a run for political office: ‘I really don’t know at this point’
It turns out Caitlyn Jenner isn’t ruling out a run for political office.
‘I just have to look and see where I can do a better job for my community,’ the transgender reality star and frustrated Republican told James Corden on The Late Late Show this week.
‘From the outside, you know kind of working the outside of politics … or am I better off going from the inside, you know, actually running for office and trying to make change for my community that way. And I have to make that decision and I really don’t know at this point.’
Jenner is frustrated with US President Donald Trump over LGBT issues.
But at the same time she has alienated many within the LGBT community for continuing to align herself with a party that is for the most part against LGBT equality.
‘Although I vote Republican, I’m not a big supporter of the Republican Party,’ Jenner said without irony.
‘Certainly not a big supporter of Trump … he was our candidate for the Republican Party so obviously I voted for him.’
Although Trump has been against same-sex marriage, Jenner’s breaking point with him came in February when his administration dismantled federal guidelines in schools designed to protect transgender students.
‘That was it. I was very upset with that,’ Jenner said. ‘We do need some federal guidelines when it comes to equality for the LGBT community – especially my (transgender) side.’

Sorry Caitlyn, but you don’t even represent my values on issues outside the LGBT political spectrum to begin with. And you’re weak on the “LGB” part of the LGBT. Goodbye.

I would like to think Jenner who is misinformed on the best of days doesn’t stand a chance of winning if she ran but depending on the geography you never know. She has name recognition and celebrity. How many of us thought Cheeto Voldemort stood a chance?
