It’s my blogiversary! Greg in Hollywood turns 11!

Greg In Hollywood turns 11 today!
This comes three months after being chosen as one of MetroSource Magazine’s People We Love which I thought was very cool.
It’s hard to believe 11 years have gone by since Greg in Hollywood was quickly launched in 2009 – less than a week after I was downsized from the shrinking Los Angeles Daily News. I had been doing the Out in Hollywood blog at the paper since 2006 and loved it so much. So after my layoff, my main feeling was that I had to keep going.
My smart and talented friends Danny Sullivan, Lorna Harris, Kate Cohen and Val Cohen dropped everything for several days 11 years ago to help me quickly get Greg In Hollywood up and running and allowed me to instantly turn lemons into lemonade.
I’ll always be so grateful to them!
This blog has been my baby – a constant not just in my professional life, but in my life. Greg in Hollywood is directly responsible for my being approached about becoming U.S. correspondent at Gay Star News when it launched back in 2011 – a job I stayed with for a very rewarding 5.5 years. Since 2017, I’ve been juggling the blog with my job at the Los Angeles LGBT Center where I am a writer for the marketing & communications department.
For all the love and energy I continue to put into Greg In Hollywood, I get it in return in the form of really thoughtful emails that come out of nowhere and meeting longtime readers when I’m out and about.
People are so kind and so thoughtful – and honest.
So let me just say thank you for your loyalty, for checking the site every day and weighing in on the comments or on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.
Now we start year 12!

Greg, your blog is the only one that I follow because it covers all of the topics, events and people that I am interested in. Your blog is so informative and entertaining at the same time. Congratulations! Looking forward to another eleven years of excellent Hollywood coverage!

Congrats Greg! I’m so proud of you, personally & professionally. I am one of those people who logs in every AM to see the latest in Hollywood & in LGBTQ news. I find myself jealous of your meeting those whom I admire so much too. Best wishes & much continued success!
Cheers from Sacramento!

Congratulations! Where does the time go? I don’t remember the Google search that lead me to you, but I know it was a few weeks before you were let go by the Daily News. I was worried that without the Out in Hollywood column, I would lose track of you. When you created Greg in Hollywood then I made it a bookmark on my desktop iMac You have been here ever since. May you have many more years doing what you love.
