In the bitter “Bachelor” split involving Jake Pavelka, I cannot believe I am now siding with Vienna!

I watched the big showdown between Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi who supposedly fell in “love” on The Bachelor last season. I believe I was more mature than these two when I was in, oh, 8th grade, but what can you do with these crazy reality “stars” these days.
Initially, I thought the 24-year-old Vienna was the villain for selling her story of the break-up to Star but now that she has shed some light on the relationship, you can see why she felt like she had to sell this guy out. While she comes off as the immature young woman that she is, she does come off as a human being at least.
Jake, I fear, may not be human. He was smug and had this kind of controlled fury that seems kind of scary.
Here’s my take: the guy wants to be famous. It was all going according to plan with The Bachelor, the stint on Dancing With the Stars and now an acting gig on Drop Dead Diva. He wanted a stepford kind of “fiancee” to stand by him through all of the initial publicity and the launch of his “career” before they amicably parted about 5-6 months down the road.
Vienna did not stick to the script! She’s like the Princess Diana of reality television!
“You need a perfect girl who says nothing and does everything,” she said in the interview. “[You’re the] biggest fake liar I have ever met!”
“My impression was that you were a pilot and we were going to go back to Florida and Dallas and live a normal life,” Vienna said. “Instead, we’re in L.A. and you’re pursuing a career in acting.”
Jake certainly has the looks and seemed to have the charm but the sad fact for him is that he does seem very phony and more than a little smarmy. Remember the night he got voted off Dancing With the Stars and he CRIED? He made sure to mention his “best friend Vienna” in his little parting speech.
By that time, as we know now, he was not having sex with his “fiancee” and he explained in the interview why, sorta: “What guy in America would ever want to be intimate with someone who undermines him, emasculates and doesn’t respect him? … She breaks me down. She’s mean. She’s always right. I never do anything right.”
Poor Jake.
Bachelor host Chris Harrison lamented how he had just had dinner with the “couple” two weeks earlier and how everything seemed fine. He was a little bit hostile to Vienna in some of his questioning, I thought, and couldn’t really blame her for leaving the set in tears.

I saw a couple of minutes of this show last night while channel surfing, never seen an episode, but, I was on the side of the woman, there’s just something that seemed off about this guy.
But, at the same time, its on TV, so, she should have been prepared for anything!
Clay says:
This guy is so gorgeous. I was reading in another magazine that said he was gay and had actually went on dates with men during the time he was “dating” the female. I’m sorry but I’m still on his side.
Marie says:
Jake chose poorly is really all there is to it. He was thinking with his other body parts at the time. Plans are never set in stone, and for Vienna to just blame Jake for everything and not take responsibility for her part just shows she hasn’t grown up yet. She couldn’t even get a genuine apology out. When a man is not getting the respect he needs, and to feel like his decisions matter his desire for that person just goes away. That is really all there is to it. He chose poorly.
