I’m creeped out/fascinated by Newsweek’s controversial Princess Diana cover. How do you feel about it?
People are buzzing about the Newsweek cover which depicts Princess Diana as being alive and well and walking with her daughter-in-law, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. The accompanying article, written by editor Tina Brown, speculates on what Diana’s life would be like at 50 including what her Facebook page would look like.
Brown writes: Diana would have been 50 this month. What would she have been like? Still great-looking: that’s a given. … . There is no doubt she would have kept her chin taut with strategic Botox shots and her bare arms buff from the gym. Remarriage? At least two, I suspect, on both sides of the Atlantic. Always so professional herself, she would have soon grown exasperated with Dodi Al-Fayed’s hopeless unreliability.
So it’s all kind of silly really. But people are having very strong feelings about it – many find it tasteless. I find it both intriguing and creepy. Mostly, it makes me sad to think about what might have been.

When I pulled it out of the mailbox, I glanced at it and didn’t even read the article, I guess I just want to keep the memory of her that I have, and, still don’t like how they are all comparing this new royal to her.

Greg- Catherine is the Duchess of Cambridge. Camilla, Charles’s wife, is Duchess of Cornwall.

Fixed it! Thanks Lane!

I agree with you, Greg. I personally call it rather odd.

Diana would turn 50 tomorrow. It’s important to remember her, especially on these milestone anniversaries. I think the photo is great!
Mort says:
For me, I’m not sure it’s as creepy as it is tacky.
