I LOVED “The Amazing Spider-Man”

My favorite movie partner is my 81-year-old dad and we spent part of the July 4 holiday inside a movie theater in Huntington Beach watching The Amazing Spider-Man.

My dad and I try and catch all of the superhero flicks together and we both agreed that this Spider-Man reboot is far superior to any of the previous films in the franchise. We also enjoyed it much more than The Avengers just a few months ago.

Andrew Garfield is terrific in the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. My dad could not believe the guy is British! He and Emma Stone have such stupendous chemistry that it’s no surprise they are a couple off screen too.

In its first two days in theaters, Spider-Man has grossed $58.3 million at the domestic box office. I expect it to have some big gaudy totals after the weekend and everyone who buys a ticket will be damned glad they did.
