“I Love Lucy” Friday: Lucy writes a novel and Ricky, Ethel and Fred threaten to sue for putting them in it

Lucy decides to write a novel and creates barely fictionalized characters that portray Ricky as a big ham, Fred as an old coot and Ethel as someone who is “like a mother” to her.

Needless to say, the gang is not happy with her and shocked when she gets a letter (and an advance!) from a publisher!

Lucy gets a swelled head and begins plotting her second novel when it all starts to fall apart. Her hammy husband and the Mertzes threaten to sue but then feel sorry for Lucy when it turns out that the letter from the publisher was sent by mistake.

“So long Book of the Month club!” Lucy laments.
