“I Love Lucy” Friday: Lucy tries to hide the new furniture from Ricky by stashing it in the kitchen!
This has got to be the most exhausting dinner that Lucy Ricardo ever served.
She does not want that hot-headed Cuban, Ricky, to know that she went ahead and bought the new living room furniture that he did not want to her buy.
She hides the furniture in the kitchen until she gets the nerve to break the news to him and serves dinner in the living room. Problem is, the kitchen door won’t open so Lucy has to keep running out the front door, through the Mertz’s apartment into the backdoor of her kitchen and back again for things like salt and sharper steak knives.
Exhausted, when Ricky asks for butter, she has had her fill and this leads to a classic Lucy line and Lucille Ball delivery: “BUTTER on BREAD? I’ll never get used to your crazy Cuban ways.”

Eddie says:
Did you really think you could misquote Lucy and get away with it? “I’ll never get used to your strange Cuban dishes.”
Greg Hernandez says:
Well Eddie (whoever you are), sorry I misquoted the line. Not everyone has them MEMORIZED.
Eddie says:
“Oh well, if you’re going to drag in those phony technicalities.” Maybe SOME former journalists need a refresher course on using quotation marks. Or you could LISTEN to the clip on your own site! Edgy
