“I Love Lucy” Friday: Lucy and Ethel undergo a transformation after attending charm school
A few weekends ago, I was babysitting my 9-year-old nephew who, thank God, enjoys watching I Love Lucy (and Brady Bunch) episodes with me.
Among those we watched was the one when Lucy and Ethel, who were feeling frumpy after being ignored by their husbands at a party, go to charm school and undergo quite a transformation.
They are taught how to walk, they buy new gowns, and apply dramatic make-up before surprising Ricky and Fred.
I think Lucy looks amazing actually. Ethel? Well, her gown is most unfortunate.
Anyway, this clip is the big reveal.
