Hunky Dean Geyer to join cast of “Glee”
Dean Geyer was featured as a Morning last fall and you gotta figure that’s where the producers of Glee spotted him and decided to make him a regular in season four.
Ha!
But seriously, it was just a matter of time before this young hunk was cast in a high-profile US series.
FOX announced earlier today at the TV Critics Association summer press tour (I’m recovering from Outfest today and will begin covering TCA tomorrow) that Mr. Geyer will play Brody Weston when Glee returns for its fourth season this fall. He’ll be an upperclassman at the New York Academy of Dramatic Arts where Rachel (Lea Michele) will be a freshman.
Dean is a 26-year-old from Australia who is not only an actor, but also a singer-songwriter. He first made a splash in 2006 when he came in third on Australian Idol which led to a recording contract with SonyBMG.
He was dropped by the label in 2008 but by that time, had already been cast on the popular Australian soap Neighbours as a law-school dropout and aspiring musician.
