Huh? Stevie Wonder is questioning if R&B singer Frank Ocean is really gay or “confused”
I just don’t know what the say about this.
You just expect more from Stevie Wonder somehow.
The music legend is speculating about whether R&B singer Frank Ocean really is gay.
In an interview with the UK’s Guardian, Wonder was asked if he was surprised that there could still be such a furor, in the year 2012, about a performer such as Ocean coming out as gay.
‘I think honestly, some people who think they’re gay, they’re confused,’ Wonder replied. ‘People can misconstrue closeness for love. People can feel connected, they bond. I’m not saying all [gay people are confused]. Some people have a desire to be with the same sex. But that’s them.’

Matt, I so agree. Black folks (no offense) are in complete denial about black gay people. Pretty sad, really.
It sounds to me like Stevie is the confused one. Good example for people to *think* before they speak.

I’m cutting Stevie some slack. His roots are in the black church which has a tortured relationship with homosexuality. I don’t know the context of his remarks, but I found them more ignorant than hateful. I accept his apology and hope, as they say, it will be a teachable moment.
