How good sport Anderson Cooper ended up with red, white and blue hair on New Year’s Eve

Anderson Cooper never knows quite what to expect when he co-hosts CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage from New York’s Times Square with Kathy Griffin.

This year – their eighth together – was no exception. Among the more memorable moments came towards the end when Griffin brought some hair dye out.

‘Just lean your head down a little bit, close your eyes, and we’re gonna have a little bit of fun, shall we?’ she said to her white=haired pal. ‘Just trust me.’

She then proceeded to rub blue hair dye on one side of Cooper’s head and some red dye on the other. The middle portion remained white for a patriotic red, white an blue look.

‘This is temporary, and it shows how fantastic you are,’ she assured Cooper.

Once he opened his eyes he said, ‘What have you done?’

What she had done was provide viewers with yet another buzz-worthy moment from her annual telecast with Cooper.

Once off the air, the anchor posted a Twitter pic of himself in front of a mirror and asked:’Anyone know how to get red dye out of hair?’
