Harry Connick Jr. to be judge on “American Idol”
Regular readers of this blog know that I am on the moon over this news: Harry Connick Jr. will join Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban as a judge in the upcoming season of American Idol.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news tonight.
This is a huge improvement over last season’s disastrous Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj fiasco.
Randy Jackson moves over from judge to mentor for the 13th season.
With Harry aboard, I will give the show another chance. He’s my dream man for all kinds of reasons including tremendous talent, an easy charm, intelligence and then there are those blue eyes.
He just has a way about him and Idol will be a better show with him aboard.
For the record, after seeing Harry as a guest mentor several seasons back, I championed him as a judge – this is way back when Simon Cowell departed.
Glad somebody finally listened to me!

2201 East says:
He definitely will bring back something missing to that show-a sense of style that certainly has been lacking. Hope that its enough to help save a sinking ship. Two of the rats abandoned ship and that can do no harm.
Howard says:
He’s a classy guy. It can only help.
JJ says:
Harry Connick will bring zero viewers to a failing show.
