Happy Birthday to Thea Gill
Whoops! Almost let the day go by without acknowledging the birthday of one of my favorite actresses: Thea Gill. She was Lindsay Peterson on Showtime’s Queer as Folk for five seasons and has played Diana Childs on here Network’s gothic gay soap Dante’s Cove for two of that show’s three seasons.
Thea turns 39 years old today. I hope she’s having a great time because I have to say, she is one of the warmest most gracious actresses you will ever see on a red carpet or Hollywood event.
I recently watched the film Mulligans, directed by Thea’s Dante’s Cove co-star Charlie David, and she is terrific as the wife of a man who has an affair with their college student son’s roomate when they come to spend the summer at the family’s lake house. The film played in nearly 40 film festivals around the world including Outfest in LA last summer.
It makes its DVD premiere in the US and Canada on April 21.
