Happy Birthday to Randy Harrison!
Sorry for the lack of posts so far today, had a project that needed to be finished!
But I’m going to post for a few hours starting with this birthday shout out to out actor Randy Harrison who turned 34 today.
It’s hard to believe that the young man we knew as gay teen Justin Taylor on Queer as Folk is all grown up but the series did end its five-year run back in 2005!
Who can forget the impression he made in that first episode as Justin who hooked up with Brian Kinney (Gale Harold) in such memorable fashion?
While his Queer on-screen lover Harold has continued to appear on television as a regular on such shows as The Secret Circle, Hellcats and Desperate Housewives, Randy had focused on the stage.
His most recent credits include the role of Sebastian in Rebecca Taichman’s production Twelfth Night at the Shakespeare Theatre Company and the role of Tommy in the Berkshire Theatre Festival’s summer production of The Who’s Tommy at the Colonial Theatre.
He also played the role of Andy Warhol in the Yale Repertory Theatre production of Pop! and his other theater credits include The Glass Menagerie, Equus, Amadeus, Waiting for Godot, Antony and Cleopatra, Mrs. Warren’s Profession, Wicked and A Midsummer’s Nights Dream.
Happy birthday to an actor dedicated to his craft!

Greg –
Very nice birthday article on the very talented Randy Harrison. FYI: His MOST recent thratre work was a major role (a double role, in fact) as Tim/Stuart in the US premier of Brit playwright Alan Bennett’s The Habit of Art, which ended its run at Washington, DC’s Studio Theatre last Sunday, October 30. The run was extended twice and the theatre called it a “Runaway hit”. There were still demands for tickets when they were forced to close due to another play scheduled to start at the theatre. Randy and the play received excellent reviews from DC area critics. Here’s the promo video for the play http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiThq9-rzkc

Loved his first scene in QAF….Laying his back on Brian’s bed with his legs in the air and Brian places gel in his hole and Justin says, “Ohhh, it’s cold.” That was an unforgettable line because you only hear lines like that on TV.
