Happy Birthday to Margaret Cho!
It was a dream come true a few years back when on the red carpet on opening night of Outfest Margaret Cho launched into an imitation of her mother for me.
Almost dropped my recorder and lost my composure from laughing so hard.
Love, love, love Margaret Cho who turns 42 years young today.
This very funny and very talented woman tried to fit in with ABC’s All American Girl in the mid-90s but it is clear that Margaret is at her best as Margaret. Her comedy specials I’m the One That I Want, Notorious C.H.O. and Assassin are classics and all on DVD.
The bisexual Margaret has appeared in scores of roles both comic and serious including the AIDS drama It’s My Party, the hilarious episode of Sex and the City when Carrie Bradshaw becomes fashion roadkill, and her current series Drop Dead Diva.
Margaret also competed in Dancing With the Stars and the week she was eliminated, wore a dazzling rainbow dress and dedicated her performance to all the bullied gay kids out there, asking them to be strong.
As for this nonsense involving Margaret and Bristol Palin that is getting way too much attention right now, I can’t pretend to care. But Towleroad has the latest HERE.
Anyway, happy birthday to a true original!
