Happy Birthday to Barbra Streisand!

The greatest star turns 68 years old today and is still just like buttah.

Barbra Streisand has been recording since the early 60s and, lucky for us, has really taken care of her singular voice. Last year, her album Love is the Answer debuted at number one on the Billboard charts and a DVD of an intimate concert she did performing material from it is due to be released May 4.

Barbra, who won the Oscar for Funny Girl and was nominated for The Way We Were, rarely acts anymore with 2004’s Meet the Fockers being her only movie in the past 14 years.

It was fitting that Miss Streisand presented Kathryn Bigelow with the best directing Oscar this year since she herself is a pioneering female director (Yentl, Prince of Tides, The Mirror Has Two Faces) who never got the recognition she deserved in that male-dominated arena.
