Happy 83rd birthday to Jim Nabors!

Jim Nabors may have waited until his 80s to publicly confirm that he is gay but better late than never!

Today he turns 83 and does so as a happily married man.

Jim, best known for his role as Gomer Pyle on The Andy Griffith Show and on Gomer Pyle USMC, married Stan Cadwallader on January 15 after 38 years together.

They got live in Hawaii but got married in the state of Washington where same-sex marriage is legal.

Although he says he is not a gay marriage activist, Nabors did want to make things with Cadwallader legal: ‘It’s pretty obvious that we had no rights as a couple, yet when you’ve been together 38 years, I think something’s got to happen there, you’ve got to solidify something.  And at my age, it’s probably the best thing to do.’
