Happy 74th Birthday to Ian McKellen!
Ian McKellen, the Oscar-nominated and Tony Award winning actor, turns 74 today and continues to enjoy a red-hot career.
He came out publicly as a gay man in 1988 and since then, starred in Gods and Monsters earning a best actor Oscar nod, has appeared as Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies, Magneto in the X-Men films, and Sir Leigh Teabing in The Da Vinci Code.
He’s become an outspoken LGBT activist.
McKellen once said: “If I was on a march at the moment I would be saying to everyone: ‘Be honest with each other. Admit there are limitless possibilities in relationships, and love as many people as you can in whatever way you want, and get rid of your inhibitions, and we’ll all be happy.”

At same time reading your posting and by coincidence am watching Julie Christie and Sir McKellen in interesting scene from “New York I Love You”. Wish him good health as I understand he has been battling prostate cancer for several years. HBD Sir McKellen and many more.

Has two of the best lines in two of my favorite movies.
‘You shall not pass’ from the LOTR. And the wonderfully snarky ‘we love what you’ve done with your hair from the ‘X Men’.
