Happy 65th Birthday to Cher!
From I Got You Babe in the mid-60s to last year’s Burlesque, Cher has been a part of our lives for a very long time now and let’s hope she’ll be around for a lot longer.
The icon turns 65 years young today!
Whether it’s been as a 60s pop star, a 70s television star, 80s movie star, 90s chart-topper or never-ending farewell tour headliner, she has been glamorous, interesting and entertaining.
She’s also had the talent to back up her ambition and along the way winning an Oscar for Moonstruck and starring in such hit movies as Mask, Mermaids and The Witches of Eastwick.
But music is what brought her to the party and it has been music that has been Cher’s greatest and most enduring success.
She has sold out stadiums and Vegas showrooms for decades and enjoyed a very long string of hits including her 70s hit Half Breed, Dark Lady and Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves through to last year’s epic ballad You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me. In between there was such classics as Believe, If I Could Turn Back Time, Take Me Home, Song for the Lonely, Strong Enough, and I Found Someone.
Cher is the icon who keeps on giving!
