Halloweenie benefit draws a costumed Steve Grand, Lance Bass, Andy Bell, Wilson Cruz and more
Boy, I bet there’s plenty of you who wouldn’t mind peeling this banana.
It’s Steve Grand, the singer who blew us away with his debut single All-American Boy and whose first full album is coming out in January.
Steve was among the celebs who turned out on Saturday night for Fred & Jason’s 9th Annual Halloweenie at the Los Angeles Theatre in downtown LA.
I have attended this very fun event in the past but this year it conflicted with the wedding of Stephen Reis and Paul Lerner which I attended at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
The evening featured a surprise performance from Erasure’s Andy Bell, an remix of “Chains of Love” and “Aftermath” by Dave Aude, as well as Lance Bass performing his single “Walking on Air” with Dave Aude.
Other celebs on hand included Wilson Cruz, Jai Rodriguez and Frankie Grande, among others.
The event benefited the Gay Men Chorus of Los Angeles’s programmatic work, including the Alive Music Project, which brings GMCLA performers to local schools in a unique music education outreach program; it gets better, a musical theater collaboration of GMCLA, Speak Theater Arts and the It Gets Better Project; and Outside Voices, a youth chorus in partnership with LifeWorks and directed by GMCLA staff.
