Greg’s Gallery: BAFTA-LA Awards Season Tea Party
Tomorrow is the Golden Globe Awards but the stars have already been busy all weekend attending one glitzy event or another.
I’m glad the one red carpet I decided to cover was the BAFTA-LA Tea Party which always has an outstanding turnout the day before the Globes.
I had wonderful chats with Cate Blanchett who is so remarkably calm and in the moment amid all the hoopla; a relaxed Michael Fassbender; a chatty Julian Fellowes who is the executive producer and writer of Downton Abbey; Philomena Lee whose story is told in the film Philomena (she’s played by Judi Dench); DGA President Paris Barclay who is directing the 100th episode of Glee; and Rush star Daniel Bruhl.
Some people I just got photos of – and not very good ones if they were walking by fast or were far away. It’s an iPhone!

Oh, I just adore Cate Blanchett. She and Meryl Streep are two of the best actresses of all times. Cate is a lovely and intersting person.
