Greg’s Celebrity Encounters: Jaclyn Smith!
One of my favorite things about my pal Kenneth Walsh’s blog (Kennethinthe212) is when he takes a trip down memory lane and digs up old photos and anecdotes. So I’m inspired to start this new blog feature: Greg’s Celebrity Encounters. I’ll dig into nearly nine years of archives (the amount of time I’ve covered the Hollywood scene) and share what the hell I can remember about it!
The new feature will pop up at least twice a week – maybe more – with Sunday being at least one of the days.
I kick off the feature with the night I met the beautiful Jaclyn Smith. It was in 2003 at the premiere party for Charlie’s Angels:Full Throttle. This encounter was mostly memorable because it is one of the few times I actually felt my knees shaking when I’m meeting a star. (It also happened with Natalie Cole, for some reason, and Judd and Pam from The Real World: San Francisco)
But I digress!
Miss Smith had a scene in the film with Drew Barrymore and I told her that when her scene came up, the audience cheered (we had been sitting in separate auditoriums at Grauman’s). She was so gracious and asked her husband to snap a picture of us.
It’s my favorite picture ever with a female celebrity.
