Greg in the Afternoon: Brody Jenner is a beauty, Miss California is not

There’s no particular reason that I have posted this picture of Brody Jenner except the most obvious one: God he’s beautiful. One of my Facebook friends, Joe Fitrizyk had this posted in his gallery and I noticed it when he messaged me happy birthday wishes. (It’s actually on Wednesday – Earth day). I’m hoping Joe has a way of making Brody my birthday present. I know he’s straight but I’d settle for a really steamy bro-mance!

Speaking of birthdays, today is my friend Michelle Nicolosi’s birthday. We had celebrated our birthdays together here and there in years past been she’s been in Seattle for much of the past nine years. Our last  joint  bash was in 2000, cosmos everywhere, me in a tuxedo, Michelle with a Veronica Lake hairdo, and about 100 people drunk and dancing in and outside her tiny Belmost Shore apartment, hanging on the staircase, making out with each other. What a great night.

MISS CALIFORNIA BLAMES GAY MARRIAGE QUESTION FOR HER LOSS: How is it that until this morning, I had never heard of Carrie Prejean and now she is annoying me more than Elisabeth Hasslebeck?

Carrie was asked by gay blogger Perez Hilton, one of the contest’s judges, if she thought same-sex marriage should be legal in all 50 states. She, in a very inarticulate way, went the “marriage should be between a man and a woman” route. She is now saying that her anti-gay marriage answer during Saturday’s Miss USA contest cost her the crown. I think her inability to speak in correct sentences did her in.

Her answer in her own words: “Well, I think it’s great that Americans are able to choose one or another. Um, we live in a land that you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And, you know what? In my country and in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised and that’s how I think that it should be – between a man and a woman. Thank you!”

She now tells Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush: “It did cost me my crown. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I said what I feel. I stated an opinion that was true to myself and that’s all I can do. “It is a very touchy subject and he is a homosexual and I see where he was coming from and I see the audience would’ve wanted me to be more politically correct. But I was raised in a way that you can never compromise your beliefs and your opinions for anything.”

Well good for you Carrie. Now please go away.
