“Glee” and Jane Lynch win inaugural Dorian Awards
They don’t call it the gayest show on television for nothing!
The new Gay & Lesbian Entertainment Critics Assn. announced its first Dorian Awards on Thursday and Glee was voted the musical or comedy television show of the year and its breakout star, Jane Lynch, was recognized for best TV performance in a comedy.
Glee won the Golden Globe Award on Sunday for outstanding TV comedy while, in my opinion, Lynch was robbed in the supporting actress category!
The Dorian Awards also gave some love to the superb HBO fllm Grey Gardens which was named best TV drama and Drew Barrymore, who won the Golden Globe Award on Sunday, was named best TV actress in a drama.
In the feature film categories, A Single Man was named best picture and its star, Colin Firth, best actor.
The wonderful Lifetime movie Prayers for Bobby, about gay teen suicide and religious intolerance, was picked as best LGBT-Themed TV Drama.
