GLAAD Media Awards: Wilson Cruz and Candis Cayne will host the April 17 ceremony in LA!

GLAAD decided to go with two gorgeous, sexy and talented people to host their April 17 Media Awards in Los Angeles: Wilson Cruz and Candis Cayne!
These two have been real trailblazers in the entertainment business.
Wilson is a television, film and stage veteran who came out at the age of 19 when he co-starred in the ABC series My So-Called Life in the mid-90s.
Candis achieved a real breakthrough for transgender actresses when she was cast as Billy Baldwin’s mistress on ABC’s Dirty Sexy Money for two seasons.
Among the other guests and presenters scheduled for the LA event: director and designer Tom Ford (A Single Man); Benjamin Bratt (La Mission); openly gay lead singer of Judas Priest, Rob Halford; and GLAAD President Jarrett Barrios.
More names to be announced.
Awards scheduled to be presented onstage in the following categories include: Outstanding Film – Wide Release, Outstanding Comedy Series, and Outstanding Reality Program.

In January, GLAAD announced 116 nominees in 24 English-language categories, and 36 Spanish-language nominees in 8 categories. A complete list of this year’s 152 nominees is available at www.glaad.org/mediaawards.

Each year, the GLAAD Media Awards in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco bring together more than 5,000 supporters to raise nearly $3.5 million for the organization’s work.

General tickets for the Los Angeles event are $300 and VIP tickets begin at $450. More info at:  http://www.glaad.org/mediaawards

Additional GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies will take place in New York on March 13, 2010 at the Marriott Marquis, and in San Francisco on June 5, 2010 at the Westin St. Francis.
