Geri Jewell cast in new Fox series “Alcatraz”

Geri Jewell, first known for her role as Blair’s cousin on The Facts of Life then later as a regular on HBO’s Deadwood, will  guest star on the new Fox drama Alcatraz.

Jewell, 55, will be appearing in circa-1960s flashbacks as the eccentric sister of deputy prison warden E.B. Tiller (played by Jason Butler Harner), reports TV Line.

Alcatraz premieres on Monday, Jan. 16.

This is the first major acting gig for Jewell since she came out publicly last year. Her stardom was seen as a real breakthrough because she has cerebral palsy,
