Gay Star News Round-up: Pelosi on gay Republicans; Gay marriages in Canada questioned; Kristy McNichol update!
Hello everyone, hope your day has gone well!
I spent another day in Pasadena covering the Television Critics Winter Press Tour event and have sat through many panels and attended some parties.
Lots of stars during the Showtime presentations including Jeremy Irons, Don Cheadle and William H. Macy.
But I’ve also been busy monitoring events for Gay Star News and want to share with you some of the stories I dd today.
First, there is a piece highlighting some of the choice things House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi had to say about gay Republicans in an interview with The Advocate.
Then there is the disturbing situation going on in Canada where a court case has put the status of the marriages between gay non-citizens in question. There are thousands of couples who have wed in Canada since 2004 and a government court filing takes the position that if they went home to a state or country where gay marriage is not legal, the Canadian marriage would not stand. Read more about it HERE.
And finally, there is a new statement from Kristy McNichol who, so far, is remaining low-profile since coming out publicly last week.
In a statement to People magazine, she said: “I’m overwhelmed with the love and support of my family, friends and fans.” Read more HERE.
