Gary and Larry Lane share their thoughts on Dolly Parton’s legacy with CNN’s Elex Michaelson

Somehow I was lucky enough to be invited to the The 25th-anniversary DVD release party for the 1980 comedy 9 to 5 took that took place in Hollywood in March 2006. It was on that night that I met Gary Lane and Larry Lane for the first time and, I believe, it was the first time they met Dolly Parton. It would not be the last!

They would go on the create, star in and produce the sweet road trip documentary From Hollywood to Dollywood which culminates with them presenting to Dolly a script they had written for her. The film went on to win won 24 film festival awards. Love the movie and love the twins. Dolly was also extensively for their 2022 documentary Still Working 9 to 5.
