Frontiers IN LA talks to Wanda Sykes

Picked up the latest issue of Frontiers IN LA and inside is a funny Q&A with the funny Wanda Sykes whose new Saturday night talk show launches in November.

Thought I’d share some of it with ya:

Q. What will make your talk show unique from all the others?

A. Well, let’s start with me and there you go. We’re not trying to re-invent the late night talk show format, except instead of a white guy you have me.

Q. Any guests you would love to invite?

A. Condoleeza Rice. Wouldn’t that be great?

Q. Sure, two lesbians in a room.

A. (laughs) I did not say that.

Q. Did coming out last November change your life? What effect has it had?

A. It’s been great. Liberating. Total freedom. I’m giving it a plug. Highly recommend it.

Q. And was your family cool with that? What was their reaction?

A. Oh no. No, no. It was more just loud noises. Something  about praying for you. Let’s just say [they’re taking] baby steps.
