Friday Morning Video: Get your first taste of Neil Patrick Harris as Count Olaf in ‘Series of Unfortunate Events’
He’s been Doogie, he’s been Barney and he’s been Hedwig.
Now we are getting our first glimpse of Neil Patrick Harris as Count Olaf.
Netflix unveiled a teaser today for its upcoming show A Series of Unfortunate Events starring Harris which premieres on January 17.
Harris trades in his Barney Stinson suits from his How I Met Your Mother days for far more creepy clothes along with wild hair and eyebrows and a goatee.
Also gone is Barney’s charm, Doogie’s bedside manner and Hedwig’s razzle dazzle.
In the teaser, the Baudelaire children – Violet, Klaus, and Sunny – describe Olaf as ‘horrible’ and ‘awful.’
Then we see Harris as Olaf and he says with fiendish conviction: ‘You haven’t the faintest idea.’
The series, based on the Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, books, follows the orphaned Buadelaire children who find themselves placed in Count Olaf’s care after their parents die in an accident.
The trio face trials and tribulations, misfortunes and an evil uncle in search of their fortune, all in their quest to uncover the secret of their parents’ deaths.
The description of the teaser is described on YouTube from Olaf’s point of view: ‘Meet the star of a new Netflix series telling the story of a very handsome actor and three selfish and ungrateful orphans who refuse to give him the enormous fortune their dead parents left behind.’
