Friday Morning Man: Peter Facinelli!

Was at the premiere of the film Judy last night and among the people we spotted at the after-party was Peter Facinelli’s of Nurse Jackie and Twilight fame.

Several years ago, I was chatting with Peter on the red carpet at the Elle Magazine Women in Film event when out of the corner of my eye I spotted honoree Nicole Kidman making her way past me. I had to talk to her and basically cut off my interview with Peter to get Nicole to come over for a chat.

I felt so badly later on that I considered calling Peter’s publicist to apologize but I didn’t and everyone got on with their lives. Some time later I saw Peter at another event and mentioned what had happened. He feigned outrage then laughed and said he too would’ve blown him off to talk to Nicole Kidman.

What a good sport!

Peter has been working steadily in movies and television for nearly two decades and starred for two seasons in the Fox series Fastlane.

He has since become best known for playing the protective father of the Cullen vampire clan in the Twilight saga and appeared in such popular movies as Hollow Man 2 and The Scorpion King.

But I have loved him best as Dr. Fitch Cooper in the TV series Nurse Jackie which has had a delicious run. Since that show left the air, Peter has been a regular or had a recurring role on the TVG shows Supergirl, American Odyssey and SWAT.
