Friday Flashback Video: Julia Sugarbaker’s very first rant on “Designing Women” was a doozy!
This scene is from the pilot episode of Designing Women and gives us a preview of the glorious run that was to come.
Julia, Mary Jo and Charlene are out eating sushi waiting for Suzanne. An obnoxious guy named “Ray Don” decides three women alone need a man at their table. Julia (the late, great Dixie Carter) just kills me when she puts carefully her chopsticks down, looks at this clueless dude and says: “Trust me when I say to you that you have completely mis-assessed the situation at this table.”
When he persists, she really lets him have it – the first of the many Julia Sugarbaker rants that were a highlight of this classic series.
Enjoy!
