Friday Briefs: Adam Lambert’s fight; Sacha Baron Cohen to play Freddie Mercury; Nate opens stock exchange!

Happy Friday everyone!

Well, the downside of fame has reared its ugly heard when it comes to our Adam Lambert.

Adam has been touring like a mad man and went to Miami Beach for some R&R and a photographer started taking some pics and alleges that the 2009 American Idol runner-up started running toward him “in an aggressive manner.”

According to the Associated Press, a police report says 38-year-old Victor Eras was taking pictures and claims Lambert grabbed his back pack and wrestled him to the ground. The photographer did not suffer any injuries. He declined to comment to The Associated Press on Friday.

No arrests were made. A police spokesman says there will not be an investigation. The state attorney’s office will review the report and decide if any charges will be filed. TMZ first reported the alleged attack.

HE WILL ROCK YOU: British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen has finalized a deal to play Queen singer Freddie Mercury in an upcoming biopic, Deadline New York reports.

Peter Morgan, who wrote Frost/Nixon and The Last King of Scotland, is reportedly working on a screenplay about the Queen frontman, who died of AIDS-related causes in 1991.

The film will also be the third time Cohen has played a gay character onscreen. He previously played a gay Formula One driver in Talladega Nights, and 2009′s Bruno was structured entirely around his flamboyant fashion guru character from Da Ali G Show.

The film does not have a title, director or release date, but has a distributor – GK Films – and the backing of Queen’s surviving members Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon. The trio previously licensed the group’s songs for the stage production We Will Rock You, but this will be the first time Queen’s songs will be used in a movie about them.

WEEK ONE: Have you checked out The Nate Berkus Show yet?

I saw part of an episode yesterday and he is just a natural!

What a heady week for the interior designer turned TV star. He not only welcomed such guests as Elizabeth Edwards, Dolly Parton and Jamie Lee Curtis, but he also rang the bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

And, I must say, he looked pretty damned dazzling doing so.
