French tennis star Richard Gasquet now has more than gay rumors to deny: he’s accused of using cocaine

Richard Gasquet is best known for upsetting Andy Roddick in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon and other strong performances that we good enough to earn him a top 10 ranking for a time. He’s also one of the few male pro tennis players who has gone on the record not once, but twice, to proclaom that he is not gay.

Now Gasquet has bigger worries than rumors about his sexuality: he wss suspended Monday after testing positive for cocaine andn could be banned for up to two years from the pro tour. The Frenchman, now ranked number 21, has proclained his innocence.

He will miss his country’s home tournament, The French Open, which begins on May 24.
