Freddie Smith enters guilty pleas in drunk driving case – will be sentenced in February
Freddie Smith has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the car crash in Ohio that left his girlfriend seriously injured.
The actor who plays Sonny Kiriakis on NBC’s Days of Our Lives entered pleas of guilty this week to charges of felony vehicular assault and misdemeanor driving under the influence, according to the Associated Press.
Freddie will be sentenced on February 18.
He was visiting Ohio with girlfriend Alyssa Tabit when the October 7 accident occurred in Ashtabula County.
While Freddie suffered only minor injuries, Alyssa had to be airlifted to a local hospital after the single car crash.
Freddie said he had fallen asleep while driving and his blood-alcohol level was .093, above Ohio’s legal limit of .08.
As this off-screen drama plays out, Freddie’s storyline on Days is hotter than ever.
Sonny is dealing with the prolonged absence of his ambitious husband Will just as his ex-boyfriend – a closeted pro baseball player – arrives in town for shoulder surgery.

James says:
I hope Alyssa is doing better. It takes a long time to recover from a car accident. Also, I hope that Freddie doesn’t have to do jail time. A hefty fine, 100 hours of community service, and court-ordered rehab would suffice.
Kathy says:
He rolled his car over, end over end, causing his girlfriend to need to be airlifted to a hospital. Loss of license, jail time, and community service is needed. Hopefully enough of a deterrent so he doesn’t do this again.
Larry says:
Poor Freddie I love him so much, I really do hope he’ll be ok, I’ll be praying for him.
K. Martinez says:
To hell with Freddie Smith. I just hope his girlfriend is okay. I have no pity for people who drive under the influence. That’s serious shit!
