Former night owl Don Lemon talks about getting up early for new “CNN This Morning” job
Don Lemon stopped by The Late Show last night and shared with Stephen Colbert the advice he got from friends like Gayle King and Bryant Gumbel upon his move from nighttime to mornings on CNN. He also talked about no longer drinking on CNN’s New Year’s Eve broadcast.

I am a cynical old man and I think CNN is playing the long game…Move Don from his spot at night…Replace him with what “management” feels serves their purpose…We are not new here and know which direction CNN is moving towards…Put Don on at the crack of dawn….The ratings are not what they wish to be and cancel the show OR Don gets tired of the grueling morning hours…He has stated that for most of his television career he has worked at night…And he waits for his contract to expire and looks for other work…He is gone….CNN did not have to fire him and contractual clauses go into effect….I do hope his contract is air-tight…
