Flashback Video: Some of the best of the late, great Paul Lynde on “The Hollywood Squares”

Came across this gem this morning and found myself watching the whole thing because it is so funny.

Paul Lynde was the regular “center square” guest on the game show Hollywood Squares from 1968 to 1981 and his barely in the closet gay humor is even funnier now.

Much of it might have gone over the audience’s heads but you get the sense none of it was lost on host Peter Marshall.

My favorite punchline here is when Lynde is asked: ‘Instead of “Man overboard!” what do you yell when a woman falls overboard?”

His answer: “Full steam ahead!”
