If you have just started watching The Young and the Restless, as I have, because of the gay storylines – especially the one involving Thom Bierdz’s return as Phillip Chancellor III, then this clip from the mid-80s is really helpful. It gives you a primer on the history of Phillip and his mother, Jill Abbott. It’s also interesting to watch knowing that a few decades later, Phillip would return to Genoa City as an openly gay man.
