First look at Meryl Streep in “Into the Woods”
We already know that Meryl Streep can absolutely do anything and do it very, very well.
But with three Oscars, two Emmys, the AFI Award, the Kennedy Center Honors and a slew of other accolades, she continues to try delicious new things.
This is a photo just released of magic Meryl venturing Into the Woods. It’s the feature film version of the Broadway musical currently in production.
Streep plays a Witch who wishes to reverse a curse so that her beauty may be restored in this modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales.
It explores the consequences of the quests of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel—all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, and the witch who cast a spell on them.
The movie will be in theaters Dec. 25, 2014.
In the meantime, Meryl is Oscar-bound again with August: Osage County.

Good to know Rob Marshall and not Tim Burton will be directing this Sondheim musical.

Always look forward to every Meryl performance. These two upcoming movies are no exception. She is just wonderful.

She looks too much like “Meryl” to me in this pic. Where’s the “Ugly crone” look? I think she is too recognizable. Many have said she looks like Helena Bonham Carter in the Harry Potter flicks and I get that but I expected a better look after seeing the original Broadway production dozens of times on video.
