Final days of crowdfunding campaign for a second season of web series ‘The Disappointments’
Before the Omicron spike, I was in West Hollywood and ran into actor Trevor LaPaglia who I had interviewed years ago when he co-starred in Steve Grand’s Christmas video. Trevor told me about his new web series The Disappointments on YouTube and it sounded really interesting.
It wasn’t until last weekend that I finally got around to watching the episodes and it is so good!
The show is about a group of close friends in their 50s who realize that the life they’re living today falls far short of what they had imagined for themselves when they were 25. Careers, living situations, family dynamics, romantic relationships: It’s all a bust, and the clock is ticking. This is a show about recognizable people taking desperate and funny actions in an attempt to turn their disappointing lives around before they run out of time. Literally.
The first season of The Disappointments began dropping in November on YouTube and all 11 episodes currently streaming. Episodes have been viewed over 250,000 times and left fans wanting more.
Season two promises to be bigger with 10 episodes now 22-25 minutes long.
To make that happen, there is an Indiegogo campaign to raise $100,000 to cover production and post-production. There are only three days left and the current total is $61,539.
Check out the video below and the first episode at least and consider supporting a very funny series with some really talented people involved!
