EW Entertainers of the Year include Adam Lambert, Jane Lynch and casts of “True Blood” and “Modern Family”
With two major box office hits in a single year, Sandra Bullock tops Entertainment Weekly’s 2009 Entertainers of the Year list.
Hooray for her.
Now let’s get to the folks we really care about: The sexy cast of HBO’s True Blood is #2, Lady Gaga is #3, Meryl Streep is #6 and the cast of Dexter is #15.1
Landing at #8 is a guy who a year ago we had not heard of and who now, we can’t stop talking about: Adam Lambert! He tells EW: “Before I auditioned for American Idol, I had just left the cast of Wicked in LA, I was burned-out and I was bored.”
He has become one of the most famous gay performers in the world but insists: “If no one had been talking about my [sexuality] , I probably would have kept it private to be honest.”
Hmmm. I just don’t think it’s in Adam’s nature to keep anything private! Thank goodness. Even though Adam has gotten a lot of publicity for things besides his music, it really helps that his new album, For Your Entertainment, is so terrific.
He lives up to the hype.

Coming in at #12 is the great Jane Lynch who is having the biggest year of her career.
She has been shining in movies like 40 Year Old Virgin and A Mighty Wind for years then, at 49, lands a real break-out role on Fox’s Glee. She’s ice-cold cheer coach Sue Sylvester who will say things like: “All I want is just one day a year where I’m not visually assaulted by uglies and fatties.”
Says Jane of her growing fame: “It’s been a slow reckoning that this is pretty awesome. But it also means you can’t make a fool of yourself in public. No more streaking. Basically now I have to behave myself.”

The cast of Modern Family, which includes out actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson playing one-half of a gay couple, made the EW list at #9. The ABC comedy was able to achieve hit status in its first season without benefit of a cushy time-slot and an established leading into it.
The show follows the lives of three interconnected clans of whom co-creator Steven Levitan says: “We want people to watch this show and say, ‘My God, they must have had a hidden microphone in our living room because this is the same exact argument we had last week.”

I actually agree with this list, wow.

Yes well I think it is true that Adam Lambert is just fascinating. Add Gaga and the combo is maximum intrigue. Don’t no why Adam’s fans are addicted and his foes are obsessed but we just can’t get enough of him either way. What can not be underestimated about Adam is his sheer talent. Love him or not, he has some of the best pipes in the pop/rock world! His vocal control, technical ability to move to a counter tenor with no breaks going from falsetto to head to chest is just a rare gift, and his range is a true 4 octaves. He also makes a very sexy bad boy and yet he is gracious, articulated and a really nice guy. Yep Adam is going to be around for a long time…

Love Jane and Adam.
