Evander Holyfield says being gay “ain’t normal”
Uh boy.
Here we go.
Retired boxer Evander Holyfield, during a conversation with a fellow houseguest on the UK’s Big Brother show, said of being gay: “That ain’t normal.”
He then compared it to being handicapped and something that could be fixed, according to The Mirror.
“If you were born and your leg were turned this way – what would you do? You go to the doctor and get it fixed back right?” Holyfield said.
He also said: “Yes it is a choice.”
There are some calls for the 51 year old to be kicked off the show.

Charlie says:
Well, Evander says being gay is a choice. The only way he would know is if he had made that choice, it seems to me!
FAEN says:
Sure Evander, you chose to be black like I chose to be gay.
Eye roll.

Everyone is entitled to his own opinion.
Russ says:
Use to be a fan of his, especially during the time he fought Tyson. Even then though, one could tell he was not the sharpest tool in shed. Maybe it was all the hits to head. Like the last commenter said one only need ask themselves do they choose their heterosexuality?
FAEN says:
@2201-of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Who said they didn’t? However I also have the right to call BS on his opinion as well.
Joe says:
People are definitely entitled to thier opinion. No one is stopping them from what they want to say. People are entitled to speak their opinion, too, on their opinion when they do. Personally, I am so sick and tired of heterosexual people saying being gay is a “choice.” Holyfield never came across as too bright anyhow.
Tim says:
Yeh, I can’t take that choice thing either. Drinking Beer is a choice. Being born gay is not a choice.
James says:
Anything said after the word “ain’t” is instantly negated.
Lisa M says:
Oh please, James. Half the country, many well educated, say “ain’t”. I mean if that’s the standard then anyone who uses text speak or speaks in a regional accent don’t count either.
Let’s be for real, Holyfield is a member of the constantly shrinking group of folks that just needs to be educated about the LGBT community. It’s all about changing hearts and minds – the president changed his mind and so can Holyfield.

I said everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Failed to add, being a ninny is a choice.
