Emmy nods for Matt Bomer, Jodie Foster, Jonathan Bailey, Andrew Scott; Bowen Yang, Hannah Einbinder & more!
]Apologies for the lack of posts in recent days! I’m on a bit of a vacation and will be posting sporadically this week.
But had to jump on and give a big congrats to the LGBTQ+ performers who were nominated for an Emmy Award this morning. If there’s anyone I’m missing on this list, please add in the comments section. I’m especially happy for Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey who starred in Fellow Travelers as two gay men navigating a homophobic world across several decades. I’m sad the miniseries was not nominated itself because it’s the best thing I’ve seen on television all year.
Can’t help but think about how not long ago, being out was career suicide. It’s not anymore and a big reason is because of the courage of those who have been public about who they are.
This year’s Emmy nominees include: Matt Bomer (Fellow Travelers), Jodie Foster (True Detective: Night Country), Jonathan Bailey (Fellow Travelers), Andrew Scott (Ripley); Bowen Yang (SNL); Hannah Einbinder (Hacks); Holland Taylor (The Morning Show) Sarah Paulson (Mr. & Mrs. Smith), RuPaul (Rupaul’s Drag Race), Kristen Kish (Top Chef), Alan Cumming (The Traitors), Richard Gadd (Baby Reindeer), Jessica Gunning (Baby Reindeer), Nava Mau (Baby Reindeer), Kali Ries (True Detective: Night Country), Lily Gladstone (Under the Bridge), Ayo Edebiri (The Bear). Tom Hollander (Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans).
