Ellen’s daytime show gets its highest ratings – ever
A big congratulations to Ellen DeGeneres who is finding herself more popular than ever.
7 years after publicly coming out as a lesbian.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show was watched by more viewers last week than at any time in its 11-year history.
The show average nearly 4.6 million viewers for the week of 3 February – its highest number to date. The ratings were up an impressive 6% from a week earlier.
The people who are watching the show include some very desirable demographics to advertisers: It ranks first with women ages 18-49, women and men ages 25-54.
The ratings surge comes ahead of Ellen hosting the Academy Awards on March 2.

I have to wonder how many people think of Ellen as a lesbian who watch the show as opposed to just being a woman with a unique point of view? Just a thought.

I don’t watch her show that often, but she does refer to Portia occasionally. She doesn’t make any effort to hide the fact that she is gay.

Um, Ellen stopped making any effort to hide the fact that she is gay 17 years ago when she appeared on the cover of Time magazine with the headline: “Yep, I’m gay.”

Don’t know where the 7 years ago comes from but Ellen came out in 1997 some 17 years ago. lots of 7’s…and her show debuted in 2003 after a tough bunch of years for her…remember Anne Heash, cancellation of two prime time shows and being shunned by many in Hollywood for having the gall to come out when “they” were probably still stuck in the closet.
