Ellen to play Mother Nature!
Ellen DeGeneres‘ film career has not exactly been a success. I’m still getting over Mr. Wrong. Ellen hasn’t taken a live-action film role since 1999, when she appeared in EDtv and The Love Letter although she was the voice of Dory in Finding Nemo.

But our favorite daytime star will try the big screen again and has signed on to play Mother Nature in an untitled comedy being written by Sex and the City writer-executive producer Jenny Bicks, according to today’s Hollywood Reporter. In the film, Mother Nature will return to Earth for the first time since the planet’s creation.
“I’ve always wanted to control the weather,” Ellen told the paper. “Nothing will stop me from doing this … neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet. … I may be thinking of the postal service — but I’m really excited about the movie.”
I keep thinking of those old margarine commercials where they fool Mother Nature into believing she is eating butter but it’s really Imperial Margarine. She gets angry and declares: “It’s not nice to fool MOTHER NATURE!” Then she causes a thunderstorm or something.
Well, I’m sure the wonderful Ellen will be far more level-headed in the job!
