Ellen DeGeneres takes on tabloid with humor and makes clear marriage with Portia is just fine

So Ellen DeGeneres went to get a haircut recently and noticed a tabloid out of the corner of her eye.

In the top right hand corner of the magazine there was a photo of her and gorgeous wife Portia de Rossi.

‘I thought, “Oh that’s so sweet, they’re honoring us,'” told her audience this week.

Then it turned out to be not so sweet.

Ellen explains: ‘I read the headline underneath. And it said: “Ellen and Portia Marriage Crumbles.” And I was like, “Oh, what happened? They seemed so happy.” And then I was like, “Wait, I’m Ellen.” And I should know if that was happening.’

Curious to find out what the tabloid (she does not name the publication) has come up with but ‘not wanting to let that energy in,’ Ellen finally decided to look at the story.

When she flipped to the story, she discovered it had been ripped out.

She joked: ‘I’ll never know what’s tearing my marriage apart. I don’t know what’s happening.’

But she added a bit more seriously: ‘There’s not one ounce of truth to any of it. I’m very happily married. In fact the only thing we ever argue about is over who loves who more.’

‘I don’t know how they can print lies like that.’
