Ellen DeGeneres, once again, wins the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Daytime TV Host

There is no stopping the Ellen express!

Her daytime show continues to enjoy higher ratings than ever and earlier tonight Ellen DeGeneres won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Daytime TV Host.

My guess is it wasn’t even close.

This is Ellen’s 15th People’s Choice Award win.

‘This means so much to me,’ she told the screaming audience at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. ‘To be given this award 15 times means I’m doing something right and I’m connecting with you.’

It’s a long ways from nearly 18 years ago when Ellen’s coming out on the cover of Time Magazine ultimately cost her her self-titled ABC sitcom and a led to few years of underemployment.

But for more than a decade now, she has been a major force in the entertainment industry with her daytime show and such gigs as hosting the Academy Awards and being an in-demand commercial spokeswoman.

‘We all get in this business because we want to be understood – we want to be gotten,’ she said in her awards speech. ‘I think everybody wants that in life and I get to do exactly what I want to do, I get to be who I am.’
