Ellen DeGeneres comes up with a perfectly gay ornament to get Hallmark back on track

Hallmark really blew it recently when it changed the lyrics of the song Deck the Halls on an ornament from “Don we now our gay apparel” to “Don we now our fun apparel.”

They were rightly chided for doing such a silly thing in an effort to try and be perhaps overly politically correct. First of all, nothing wrong with the word ‘gay’ and second of all, everyone knows this song well enough to know ‘gay’ means fun.

So, Ellen DeGeneres, bless her heart, decided to make some fun of them.

‘It’s ridiculous. I decided that I’ll change words too if they can do that. So I designed an ornament and people may get upset I’m not sure. I changed the words to ‘Oh how gay it is to ride in a one horse open sleigh. I flipped it. (It) of course means fun.’
